No. All six games work completely offline. The multiplayer feature ("Play together") uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct to connect devices on the same local network — no cell signal or internet required. A shared mobile hotspot also works great.
One person taps Play together → Host via QR code (or Host a Nearby lobby if everyone is on the same home or hotel Wi-Fi). The other players tap Scan to join and point their camera at the host's QR code. Once everyone is in the lobby, the host picks a game from the main menu — or taps Start a game vote to let everyone choose.
Up to 8 players, each on their own iOS or Android device.
Try the QR code method — it's the most reliable. The host creates a mobile hotspot, everyone else joins that hotspot, then guests scan the QR code. If you're using the Nearby option, make sure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both enabled on all devices and that you've granted the required nearby/location permissions when prompted.
Yes. If the host drops, guests see a "Host left" screen with three options: Reconnect (if the host is back), Become host (start a new lobby and continue the game), or Leave lobby. Scores are preserved on each device.
Scores are tracked within a session (while the app is open). There is currently no cross-session leaderboard — closing the app resets the scoreboard. This keeps the app lightweight and private.
No. Wander Wagon does not collect, store, or transmit personal data. The display names you enter for game setup are stored locally on your device only and never leave it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
All app data (saved names, settings) is stored locally on your device. To delete it, go to your device's Settings app → find Wander Wagon → tap Clear Data (Android) or delete and reinstall the app (iOS).
Yes! More road trip games are in the works. Update the app to get new games as they ship.
